In What Can I Do To Get My Ex Girlfriend Back Part 1, I basicaly gave you the suggestion to back off a bit, get yourself together and get engaged in life even without your ex.

The idea here is to live your life well. 

The Relationship Is Going To Go One Of Two Ways

Let’s be blunt.  Things are going to go one of two ways. 

You’re going to get back with her or you aren’t.  Either way, you want to have a great life.  That’s up to you and your attitude, not whether or not she comes back to you.

It may take a couple of weeks, or even a couple of months, but after you’ve been away from your ex for a while you’ll have a clearer perspective on the relationship and whether or not it really was good for you. 

This will be particularly clear if you’ve been staying busy and taking care of yourself.  

The question to ask at this point is if you still want to get back together with her.  Maybe with a little bit of clarity and distance you’ll feel differently than you do now. 

Or maybe not.

If you still want to make it a go, you can try it now.  But go slow.

You want to be calm and in control.  You’re Ok if you see your ex, but still OK if you don’t. 

It can be a little hard to find the right balance, but basically don’t seem overly eager.  Be friendly but not immediately available.  Be a little hard to get. 

A Paradox of Relationships

The following may seem like a paradox but it’s true none the less. 

If you’re trying to win a woman over and act like you really, really need her, she won’t be interested.

On the other hand, if you’re friendly and fun and competent and in control and don’t seem particularly interested in her, she’ll be very interested in you.

Go figure.

I know it seems like a game, but apparently it’s the way we’re wired and it won’t do any good to pretend we aren’t.

It will be easier to keep the right attitude if you really believe that it is possible to have a good life without her. 

I know that's easier said that done but you can do it.

All Truth Is In Country Songs

This might help a little.  Keep in mind the country song “Thank God for Unanswered Prayers” where a guy runs into a woman he longed to be with years ago but realized if he had stayed with her he never would have met his wife that he loves far more than he ever would have loved the other woman. 

He was real glad God hadn’t answered his prayers to bring his ex back to him.

So give yourself a couple of months and make changes in your life.  Some time away from your ex will work wonders.
